A new RAMP-Up Initiative, providing funding for traveling expenses.
Women faculty at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are invited to apply for the Career Campaign Travel Award which will help to offset travel costs to conferences and other professionally related travel expenses. It is our intention that this grant will enhance career success and help to provide women faculty the tools they need to advance in their professional rank.

On July 12th, Tech Valley Connect hosted a social networking dinner for our newly relocated families to meet one another at the Glen Saders Terrace in Scotia. A cocktail reception prior to the dinner was held for an opportunity for introductions. Along with our families, many of our Board members attended to help welcome the newcomers. A New England Nanny provided childcare in another room with age appropriate activities to keep the children engaged and entertained, while their parents mixed and mingled. The event was a huge success, with many asking for more events similar to this one. They enjoyed meeting one another and it was nice for them to find others who are sharing a similar experience in the stresses and adventure in relocation.

On April 6th, Tech Valley Connect hosted their 1st Anniversary Celebration. With proceeds from the cocktail reception going to the YouthBuild program at Northeast Parent & Child's Society, the cocktail reception was well attended at Pat's Barn in the Rensselaer Technology Park. Tech Valley Connect's President, Angela McNerney said, "I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did!!"
